Cultivation is carried out by farmers in 38 regions of the country: both agricultural organizations and farm enterprises. The leading regions by area are Vladimir Oblast (1,200 ha), Perm Krai (1,100 ha), and the Udmurt Republic (500 ha). New cultivation regions include Kaluga, Tambov, Kostroma, and Irkutsk Oblasts, as well as Chuvashia and Mari El.

In total, 17 varieties of industrial hemp were sown in 2024; the leaders were the varieties "Rodnik" (24.5% of the total area), "Nadezhda" (17.7%), and "Seim" (11.7%). The growth in production is driven by state support from the federal and regional budgets.
