The product is obtained during the hulling of hemp seeds: after crushing seeds and separating clean hemp hearts and clean hulls, another product forms — a blend of crumbled heart, chlorophyll layer, and a small quantity (up to 5%) of crumbled hull. The product has an appealing nutty flavor and delicate natural texture.
The blend is rich in vitamins and trace elements: particular attention deserves the substantial amount of vitamin E, iron, magnesium, zinc, manganese, calcium, potassium, sulfur, and phosphorus, which are excellently absorbed due to the fatty acids present in the seeds. The oil in the product composition is distinguished by a perfect ratio of alpha-linolenic (omega-3) and linoleic (omega-6) fatty acids, which are not synthesized by the body and must be obtained from food. About 75–80% of all fatty acids are polyunsaturated (omega-3 and omega-6); the body does not synthesize them and obtains them from food.
The product contains 24–29 g of plant-based protein per 100 g — these are globular proteins edestin (60–65%) and albumin (30–35%). The product is a valuable source of complete plant protein.
The chlorophyll in the composition has chemical similarity to blood hemoglobin and a high level of antioxidant protection. The level of chlorophyll in hemp seeds is higher than in many other popular 'green' products, such as spinach and green beans.

The crumbled blend of hemp seed hearts and chlorophyll layer contains up to 30 g of plant-based protein per 100 g, including the globular proteins edestin and albumin.
